Bekah & Sara
In 2018, Bekah was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins and Hodgkins lymphoma, which caused her to put a pause on her current career as a sous chef. We knew bills and different expenses were going to be hard with Bekah unable to work, so Sara brought up the idea of baking for different holidays, to help raise some money. We had an amazing support group so much that people started ordering more than just when we did fundraisers. Jaron (Sara’s husband) asked us why we don’t continue baking as a home bakery since we love doing it and have had a good response for orders.
We put a lot of thought into this, as we knew it would take Bekah a while to get back to normal life, but what better way to help her than to do something we have always wanted to do together.
This journey taught our family that life is short and you aren’t promised tomorrow. So doing what you love, being happy, and spending time with our family was three things we wanted to make sure continued. So fast forward to February 2021, we are an official licensed home bakery, Bekah is in remission, we are doing what we love, super happy, and spending time with our families.
